For 26 years, Sandwich has held a community-wide celebration over the July Fourth holiday. A spectacular parade kicks off the celebration. After the parade, special activities are offered downtown. These activities have been FREE. Last year the younger children were able to play games and win prizes, compete in a mini-tractor pull, and jump to their hearts’ content in a bouncy house. Braver souls climbed the rock wall. All ages enjoyed the patriotic tributes and the free concerts. These were only a few of the many activities. This year, there will be even more. For example, the celebration last year included a cruise night. Over 100 cars were entered. The event has grown so much that this year’s cruise night will be held at Timber Creek Inn & Suites on July 3^rd, the Friday before the Fourth. Many more activities are planned.

All of these events have been FREE

There is only one way all of this has been possible—from generous individuals and businesses such as you.

We certainly don’t need another person telling us times are bad. While this is true, Sandwich Freedom Days offers the potential of being a bright spot during a dark time. Parents can bring their kids and have a good time without it costing them a lot to do so.

We want to keep things free, but we are not sure that will be possible this year. We know that your financial situation is probably suffering too. Therefore, we would like to stress that any contribution, big or small, is helpful and appreciated. This year, we are offering the opportunity to sponsor an event in whole or in part. Or, if you prefer, you can simply make a contribution without designating it to a particular event.

Here are some sponsorship opportunities:

Band $2700 Caveart Beat (We currently have commitments of $800, but this expense is a major concern.) The band will perform the evening of Saturday, July 4. This downtown evening concert is always well attended. This is an excellent sponsorship opportunity.

Equipment for Activities $2000 For Saturday: rock wall to climb, Moon jump (bouncy house), and three-piece obstacle course; For Sunday: Moon Jump (bouncy house) and slip and slide

Prizes for Children’s Games $500 Simple games for younger children, such as picking a floating duck, fishing for rubber fish, playing octopus ring toss, and so on are provided at no cost. Everyone wins. Everyone gets a prize. This was so popular it was difficult to keep up with the demand.

Miscellaneous Expenses $2000 + There are numerous other expenses, such as insurance, a sound system, porta potties, table covers, garbage bags, tent, and so on. These items add up.
